Very interesting question - a question I believe no one has the answer too.
First off, I think there'll be a "Second Internet" - in fact, I've already heard they've started "The Internet II". It's a more of a private thing to transfer a large amount of data at once instead of being all cluttered with the SPAM that's out there now.
One thing that's a sort of concern is domain names. We're running out of them, slowly but surely. They keep on adding new extentions, ( .net, .eu, .us, .info, etc.) but I don't think that's the right answer. Sooner or later they're going to have to come up with a new method.

The internet will continue to expand and become a more integrated part of our lives.
A second internet is possible but more likely it's a redifined internet. With the introduction of IPv6, the addressing possibilities are endless. This will allow more devices to be internet ready. Look for internet homes. Everything is connected. All your heating, electric..etc..is connected so that utility companies can keep track better of what you use...even possibily solve small problems remotely.
Cars will use it for navigation systems. Basically, the internet will connect everything together. Whether this is a good thing is to be seen. Privacy may come into play here.

The lack of privacy (and piracy) are already growing... :/ not a whole lot you can do about htat.
GPS?
I don't think that's what he meant. :p

In the next few years we'll see television becoming the internet and vice-versa. I also believe Internet access will be extremely fast, and either free or as cheap as water. More people will be able to do work remotely and this might open up job opportunities for those not in big cities that they might not normally get. Many applications will start to move towards being web-based, and we'll "subscribe" to them instead of buying them, which will cut out piracy and the subsequent price gouging software publishers use.
I hope that one day another cable provider other than Adelphia will be available out here for me to use.
Good stuff. I look forward to wireless tech speed up and become more acessable and reliable.

I haven't read this thread, and haven't given it much thought, but I find romance in the thought of returning to the internet in my senior years and exclaiming about how things were so different back then, yet still the same.
I think the LOL3 will carry on beyond my lifetime.

We will see a far greater integration of the internet with existing and newly developed technology and infrastructure. The way the internet will be integrated into our lives will make the current internet infrastructure look like the BBS's so common of days long past.
Here's a short film that was made a few years ago, I found it rather interesting at the time, a few comments are a little out-dated, but the idea still stands. Google Epic:

It's a bit dry for the beginning, but the latter half has some interestingly plausible ideas.

I say with in the next 10 years all homes will have the choice of a fiber connection with 10mbps up & down. And to be honest I cant wait. You will be able to stream DVD quality movies right to your PC. :)

Nor can I. It'll certainly be something.

I think that within the next 10 years the theater will die out and be replaced with PPV movies on TV or over the internet
